Views from an Adult

I have been dating a married man for over 3 years now and even though he promised to leave his wife he still has not done it and I am beginning to get very tired of waiting. It was never my intention to be dating a married mad, when I met him we liked each other and it was not until a week later that I found out that him and his wife were not actuallyseparatedlike I had though they were. That night I sat down with him and he promised me that they were in the middle ofseparatingbut that he needed a bit more time to get his daughter a chance to get used to being without him and then they wouldsplitand divorce. He also told me that though they were notofficiallyseparatedthat he had nothing with her and that theydidn'teven share bedroomand in facthadn'tdone so for several years.

I guess I was stupid and I fell for all of that crap. I really believed that he was telling me the truth and so we kept on dating and we have been for the most part very happy all these long years. He lives with me 3 weeks of the month and goes to Mexico for the 4th week to spend time with his daughter who is now 9 years old. We also have a very adorable 2 year old daughter of our own and he is a great father. He reads and plays games with her and they have a special tickle game they play every night before bed. He makes sure to always be around for all of her events and for any important holidays but the week that he is away from her affects her so that she misses him so much and then when he gets back she is like glue with him and won't let him out of her sight.

I feel for my little girl and think that she deserves more than that from her father. I know he thinks that he's doing his best but when you really see it you can see how badly he is screwing it all up. It's not healthy for either of the girls to have a temporary dad and one day when they find out what he is really doing they are going to be hurt. I do adore him but think that if hedoesn'tchangethingsvery soon I might just have to go on my own way without him. I might as well be dating someone else that might one day end up marrying me for real.
