I had had a series of failed relationships and loved being in love. I knew I was never going to find a man like my idol Richard Gear, but I still had hope. My friends set me up on a blind date and it went OK. It was strange being set up like that as he was not someone I would have normally gone for, but I trusted their judgement, and played along to see, what, if anything, would happen. He was a lovely guy and we are still good friends to this day, but he wasn't the one for me, and I wasn't his type either. Since then we have both tried to set up each other with our friends and people we know. He is now very much in love with my best friend, yet I didn't feel that connection with the dates he had set me up on.
A colleague at work had told me to try out dating websites. She highly recommended it as she had found her soul mate through dating websites, so I thought I might as well give it a go. There were so many dating websites to choose from but I finally settled on one. It had a lot of successful matches and very good ratings.
There were a few guys I liked the sound of, so I got messaging them. It became very addictive and I was always popping online to check my messages. I was so excited every time I had a message, I was like a little child. I got chatting to one of the guys I had messaged and he sounded too good to be true. He was so warm and loving and completely different to all my exes. We swapped phone numbers and started texting each other. I had told him where I was working and he came in one lunch time to take me out for a picnic. That was the first time I saw him. I could feel my cheeks going bright red. We went to the local park and had a lovely picnic, he had bought me flowers and champagne too. He walked me back to work and we had a little brief encounter outside my work place, but I was too shy and ran in shouting I'd text him later.
Ten minutes later I was texting him telling him I was sorry I ran off, I was a bit shy and didn't really know what to say. We went on a few dates after and as the relationship progressed, we moved in together. We are now happily living together and enjoy each others company very much. Dating websites are brilliant and I would recommend them to everyone, I believe I have found my soul mate, so you could too.
