Views from an Adult

This weekend my friends and I are going to a speed dating event in San Diego. This is being put together by one of the most popular speed dating planners and my friends have been waiting for them to come to our area for months now. I wasn't originally supposed to go but my boyfriend and I broke up last week and so now the girls want to drag me over there to see if I can meet anyone. I don't really feel ready to meet anyone, it's much too early but I guess since it's just speed dating and not a real date with one guy it should be okay. They tell me that it's more for fun and having a couple of drinks than for hooking up and do I am trusting that and going with them.

I'm beginning to look forward to it, it's been a really long time since I went out on the town and had a fun night especially with my girl friends. During my relationship I didn't get to spend as much time with them as I wanted and now I feel like I have a second chance to get to know them again. I adore them all so much and they have been so good to me after my break up. Even though we were no longer as close the minute they heard the bad news they were all there to hug and hold me through the grieving process of losing my long term relationship. It took me going through that terrible ordeal for me to realize that they are true friends and that I can't let that separation between us happen again.

So then I think this speed dating event is going to be a lot of fun for all of us. We are all going to get super dressed up and our hair and nails done too. It's going to be more of a girls night out but with the chance to meet a few single guys too. If we're lucky maybe one of them can actually meet a guy, it would be nice for me to see them in relationships too. One of them has a boyfriend but the other two are single so this might just work out perfect for them. I'll keep letting them think it's for me but really they are the ones that need to find some hot guys.
