I had had a series of failed relationships and loved being in love. I knew I was never going to find a man like my idol Richard Gear, but I still had hope. My friends set me up on a blind date and it went OK. It was strange being set up like that as he was not someone I would have normally gone for, but I trusted their judgement, and played along to see, what, if anything, would happen. He was a lovely guy and we are still good friends to this day, but he wasn't the one for me, and I wasn't his type either. Since then we have both tried to set up each other with our friends and people we know. He is now very much in love with my best friend, yet I didn't feel that connection with the dates he had set me up on.

I have been dating a married man for over 3 years now and even though he promised to leave his wife he still has not done it and I am beginning to get very tired of waiting. It was never my intention to be dating a married mad, when I met him we liked each other and it was not until a week later that I found out that him and his wife were not actuallyseparatedlike I had though they were. That night I sat down with him and he promised me that they were in the middle ofseparatingbut that he needed a bit more time to get his daughter a chance to get used to being without him and then they wouldsplitand divorce. The last date that I went on was over 3 months ago, it was also probably the worst date I have ever been to in my entire life. It was a blind date that a co-worker set me up on and the guy she set me up with was both overweight and balding. The truth of the matter is that I could have actually lived with that, I try not to judge a book by it's cover and I am a believer of inner beauty being more important than outer beauty. Still the guy was a complete mess, he had very bad table manners that consisted of burping and even passing gas at the table. He picked his teeth the whole time and told me that a had a huge pimple on my nose which I had tried so hard to cover up. Needless to say I never want to go on a blind date again in my life.

This weekend my friends and I are going to a speed dating event in San Diego. This is being put together by one of the most popular speed dating planners and my friends have been waiting for them to come to our area for months now. I wasn't originally supposed to go but my boyfriend and I broke up last week and so now the girls want to drag me over there to see if I can meet anyone. I don't really feel ready to meet anyone, it's much too early but I guess since it's just speed dating and not a real date with one guy it should be okay. They tell me that it's more for fun and having a couple of drinks than for hooking up and do I am trusting that and going with them.
