Views from an Adult

I have decided to start dating again. It has been two years since my divorce, and I'm starting to get lonely, so I do think it is time. My sister Sarah, has tried speed dating in the past, and she thought that would be a good idea for me to get back into the dating scene. I wasn't so sure about the idea, but like i always do, I listen to her advice. She seems to always give good advice so I trust her.

I asked her how did this speed dating thing work. She said that you meet guys by having a brief encounter with them for a certain amount of time, and then move on to the next guy. You basically sit at a table and about 10 guys spend about 5 minutes with you talking. You both can take notes so you can write down the important things you want to remember about that person. Because meeting a lot of guys at a short amount of time, can be really confusing. She said that she has done this a few times, and always had really good experiences with it. But I was thinking, she would because she is gorgeous and has a really great personality. She could have any guy she wants.

So, we get to the place where the speed dating is suppose to be held. Of course I am so nervous, I wasn't able to eat anything before we left. When I got there and settled my nerves a little bit, I started getting really hungry. Just what I needed, my stomach to start making a bunch of noise, growling because I was starving. But luckily, it didn't.

When the speed dating started, the first guy I was talking to was constantly caressing my hand and arm while we talked, and that made me uncomfortable. I just ignored it because I knew it would be over in about 2 more minutes.

About 20 minutes into it, the fifth guy who sat down at my table took my breath away. He was totally my type. He was tall, gorgeous and was about 3 years older than me. His voice was so attractive, and he was really sweet. I knew right then and there that he was the perfect guy for me. At the end of the dating, he also picked me as the one he wanted to get to know better. The rest is history.
